Gucci and Riva, in collaboration with Officina Italiana Design The design company which
created the original Aquariva in 2000. areproud to unveil the exclusive made to order “Aquarivaby Gucci”, a model customized by Gucci Creative Direc-tor Frida GianninL This initiative will be one of the ac-tivities marking Gucci’s 90th anniversary year in 2011.

This unique collaboration between two of Italy’smost renowned design houses celebrates the era ofLa Dolce Vita, when a joie de vivre, glamour and el-egance defined an attitude and a lifestyle. In theirrespective sectors. Gucci and Riva have similar sto-ries, each with a tradition of excellence in design andcraftsmanship an eternal appeal of its products. Now.90 years on, under the creative direction of Frida Gi-annini, the House continues to infuse its remarkableheritage with a contemporary fashion vision provid-ing a unique combination of past and present.

 

Tradition and innovation combine to create au-thentic maritime gems that are an expression ofpure Italian elegance and allure thanks to artisanworkmanship and attention to detail, employingonly the finest materials. For more than 20 years Ri-va’s design has been entrusted to the creative inspi-ration of Officina Italiana Design, which under thedirection of Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, fo-cuses exclusively on the definition of the Riva style.

Respecting the DNA of the original project cre-ated by Officina Italiana Design was paramount toGucci’s design for Aquariva. Defining the Aquarivaby Gucci is a fiberglass hull and detailing painted inGucci’s own hue of glossy white, while Riva’s signa-|cure use of mahogany with classic varnish finish isalso the signature material for the cockpit and walk-ing decks and awning cover hatch. The waterproof fabric covering the seats and sundeck features theemblematic Guccissima print, while the bed uphol-stery is defined by the beauty of Gucci white cotton.The iconic touch is provided by Gucci’s green-red-green web detailing which edges the floating line,perfectly complementing the unique green crystalwindshield. Completing the Gucci customization isa series of exclusive Riva by Gucci accessories.

The innovate two-speed electronic gear revealsall the power of the two 380-horsepower Yanmarengines, ensuring an exceptional performance,with a maximum speed of 41 knots and a 150-milerange at cruising speed.
The Aquariva by Gucci will be available on a made-to-order basis through Rivas dealer network.
