Exquisite Open

One of the most famous yacht builders presents a boat that can be described in one word: exquisite. The reason is that Azimut has focused on exclusivity, beauty, clean lines, equipment, design and décor… in other words, every important detail needed in a yacht.

This is the second model in Azimut’s new “open” line. The 86S’s younger brother is the 68S, which was a benchmark for the brand. What distinguishes these yachts from the rest is the interior with ultramodern, minimalist finishes and the use of dark woods that contrast with the light colored fabrics.

A key feature is that these yachts have two decks. The outstanding attribute of the first is its terrace with a panoramic view and the interior, a sophisticated ambiance. With some adjustments, the main deck can be turned into a very ample space that stretches from the command area —equipped with three leather sports chairs in addition to the latest technology— to the terrace.

Design-wise, one can begin by saying that it is purely Italian, an unequivocal example of quality and beauty. The 86S has straight, subtle lines and, on the exterior, a mixture of square, circular and oval windows which, far from clashing, are distributed masterfully, forming an impressive, harmonious ensemble.

Regarding more technical aspects, the yacht boast the Azimut line’s most powerful engines. With a top speed of 45 knots, navigation is a pleasure for all the senses, assisted, undoubtedly, by the latest technological advances, like a touchscreen at the center of the control panel.

The sporty appearance of the exterior is reinforced by the red hull and the six square windows in the center of both sides of the ship. These windows have become Stefano Righini’s trademark for Azimut’s “open” line. The entire hull is notable for its clean design as well as its composition , which is of a mixture of resins, fiber glass and aramid fiber (a type of plastic compound). Thanks to its design and exhaustive planning, there is even room in the stern for a garage with enough space for a small craft and a jet ski.

Another of its outstanding features is the excellent visibility from the captain’s deck thanks, in great part, to the huge front window retakes on the “shark fin” shape of most fly bridge upper deck-type yachts.

As for its recreational aspects, Azimut has overlooked nothing: the lounge on the main deck is distributed harmoniously, with flexible spaces for different purposes. It features a plasma TV and a beautifully designed foldable table that doubles in size. It can be used for a comfortable informal breakfast or an elegant dinner
