·amura· 89 velas • Sails Los Cabos Hosted the Closure of the 2017 Extreme Sailing Series™ FromNovember 30 to December 3th, the iconic regatta arrived inMexi- co for thefirst time in its history. The teams competed to determine the champions in the waters of Los Cabos, in the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula—a place that is blessed with the most important weather systems because of its privileged geographic location. The race was held a few meters from the beach, with free en- try, to enjoy the race between the eight best teams in the world. It had a media platform that, is estimated, had an average impact on 180 million viewers and followers of social networks, globally. The crew of Team Extreme Mexico, who participated as a guest team, staged a great triumph when they got first place at the finish line in the final round of the event. To choose the winners of the 2017 Extreme Sailing Series™, the scores obtained in each of their participations are added through- out the different events of the year. Los equipos lucharon para determi- nar a los campeones en las aguas de Los Cabos, ubicadas al extremo sur de la península de Baja California –un sitio que recibe los princi- pales sistemas climáticos por su privilegiada ubicación geográfica. La carrera se llevó a cabo a pocos metros de la playa, con entrada libre, para disfrutar la contienda entre los ocho mejores equipos del mundo. Contó con una plataforma de medios que, se calcula, impactó en prome- dio a 180 millones de televidentes y seguidores de las redes sociales, globalmente. Los tripulantes del Team Extreme México, que participaron como equipo invitado, protagonizaron un gran triunfo al cruzar en primer lugar la línea de llegada durante la última prueba del evento. Para elegir a los ganadores de la Extreme Sailing Series™ 2017, se suman los puntos obtenidos en todas sus participaciones a lo lar- go de los diferentes encuentros del año.
