La evolución estuvo impulsada por un movimiento orgánico de unión entre artesanos, arquitectos, artistas gráficos, empresarios y publicistas, con un claro valor estético. Sus propuestas futuristas contemplarondesdeel principioser amigables conelmedioambien- te; ofrecer soluciones inteligentes; el uso de losmejoresmateriales y de tal ca- lidad que pudieran durar toda la vida, para aplicarlos a objetos de uso cotidiano (muebles, accesorios, textiles, etc.). Algunos de los protagonistas de este auge sostenido son: Borge Mogensen, Finn Junl, Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Poul Henningsen, Kaare Klint, KnudV. Engelhardt y Georg Jensen . En los últimos años, la Nueva Cocina Nórdica se ha convertido en ten- dencia mundial. Su propuesta está basada en elementos de la comida tra- dicional escandinava reinterpretada de una manera experimental, vanguar- dista y realmente creativa, que a la vez impulsa la producción y el consumo de productos alimentarios tradicionales y orgánicos; lo que ha dado paso a la creación de diversos restaurantes que han logrado en común más de 15 es- trellas Michelin; es tal su éxito que es casi unmilagro lograr una reservación. A partir de la década de los 90, el cine danés ha vivido una significativa etapa, cosechando gran reconocimiento internacional con películas como El Festín de Babette , de Gabriel Axel, ganador del Oscar en 1987; Pelle el Conquistado r, de Bille August, merecedor del Oscar y la Palma de Oro en 1988; y Las Mejores Intenciones , de Bille August, (Palma de Oro 1992). Sus poderosas raíces artísticas han sido infundidas con la fuerza y la sen- sibilidad de sus orígenes, para ser expresadas en todas las manifestaciones culturales y creativas danesas: literatura, artes plásticas, música, teatro y danza.
