E
l arte de la joyería es tan antiguo como el
impulso humano de adornarse para distinguir-
se de los demás, portando un objeto de belle-
za singular. De todas las opciones que el entorno
natural ofrece las más preciadas fueron aquellas sus-
tancias minerales que poseían la capacidad de captar
y reflejar la luz, tal como lo hacen las estrellas en el
firmamento.
Llevar encima el brillo de estos diminutos espe-
jos es una manera de declarar estatus y poder eco-
nómico, pues la joyería es una forma de vestir la
riqueza. Paralelamente, la joyería también es una
forma de expresión artística que apasiona tanto a los
