n this issue, our compás int brings you an

Martin or Sint Maarten, depending on if you’re
on the French side or the Dutch side. This divided
island is a fusion of two worlds, a small Eden that
measures 88 square kilometers (34 square miles),
is located east of Puerto Rico and is part of the
necklace of Caribbean islands. We went there to
show you, dear readers, the admirable scenery as
well as the attractive forms of life of this truly
unique place.
The two nationalities give it a balanced double
personality in which you can feel the beat of two
hearts, as if they were a cultural symphony. The
French side, Saint Martin, has small villages, ele-
gant shops, refined cuisine and silent nights. Sint
Maarten, the Dutch side, lives to the rhythm of its
grand hotels and casinos, bars and discos and jewel-
ry stores that offer the best diamonds and emeralds.
Rendez vous features the most vanguard
clothing and accessories for facing the storms of
summer with greater sophistication and ele-
gance. Planeta azul paints its space with incompa-
rable modern Cancun and its beaches and reefs.
The varied species of marine birds of the Marietas
Islands, in Bahía de Banderas, reveal their form of

exquisita joya del Caribe: la isla Saint Martin o
Sint Maarten, según de qué lado se esté, si en
la parte francesa o si en la zona holandesa. Esta isla
dividida es una fusión de dos mundos: un pequeño
edén de 88 kilómetros cuadrados al este de Puerto
Rico y que forma parte del collar de islas caribeñas.
Hasta ahí fuimos para mostrarles, queridos lectores,
los paisajes dignos de admiración y las atractivas
formas de vida de este lugar tan singular.
Las dos nacionalidades le otorgan un equilibrado
doble temperamento en el que se siente vibrar dos
corazones, como si fueran una sinfonía cultural. El
lado francés, Saint Martin, se caracteriza por sus
pequeñas aldeas, tiendas elegantes, gastronomía
