Suma de tecnologías Técnicamente este proyecto suma varias tecnologías. Tanto el casco como el mástil son en fibra de carbono, un material muy ligero y resistente (mucho más seguro que la fibra de vidrio). Dos motores y un par de timones para tener redundancia en altamar, es siempre agradecido y las maniobras en marina se facilitan. En el Y7 ningún lujo es sacrificado, al ofrecer el servicio de un yate: aire acondicionado, lavandería, cocina totalmente equipada, desalinizador, etc. En cuanto a sus prestaciones a vela, es muy eficiente; con poco viento puedes navegar a buena velocidad y cuando el mar demuestra su fuerza, el Y7 lo toma con gran seguridad. La ventaja de que drizas y escotas estén bajo cubierta hace que niños e invitados puedan circular libremente durante la navegación y todo el control se lleve a cabo desde la zona de timonería donde están cuatro winches con los que se controlan las velas. La vela de proa, el autovirante y el enrollable facilitan su manejo y lo reduce a que entre dos personas puedan llevar el barco bajo cualquier viento. El tangón a proa tiene dos funciones principales, tener el ancla alejada del casco y más metros cuadrados en el gennaker. Total technology Technically, this project combines several technologies.
