·amura· 42 Life, that marvellous phenomenon that is often seen as natural, common, a fact that we can take for granted, is actually fragile, unusual, and simultaneously miraculous. In all the known universe, up until now, we know for certain that life has only risen once upon the planet, our Earth, a small part of the universe with a location and geology fortunate, to say the least, since itself and the life which inhabits it were formed from a series of privileged facts in the cosmos. Let us consider, for instance, what occurred some 14.5 billions years ago: the darkness so cold and emptywas all of a sudden filled by a bright light with purity, accompanied by heat and energy. It was the large explosion, commonly known as the Big Bang. Time was born and thousands passed of millions of years in which the universe was only light. Little by little, the temperature kept decreasing until the first atoms could be formed, giving place at the beginning of the formation of the matter. La vida, ese maravilloso fenómeno que a menudo nos parece natural, común, un hecho que podemos suponer como descontado, en realidad resulta más bien frágil, inusual y, por el mismo motivo, casi milagroso. En todo el universo conocido, hasta el momento sabemos de cierto que la vida solamente ha surgido una vez en un solo planeta, nuestra Tierra, un pequeño astro con una ubicación y una geología afortunadas, por decir lo menos, ya que tanto propiamente como sus seres vivos se formaron a partir de una serie de hechos privilegiados en el cosmos. Consideremos, por ejemplo, lo que ocurrió hace unos 14,500 millones de años: la oscuridad más fría y vacía que se pueda concebir se vio súbitamente llena de una luz infinitamente brillante y pura, acompañada de calor, energía. Fue la Gran Explosión, también conocida como elBig Bang . Nació el tiempo y pasaron miles de millones de años en los que el universo fue solo luz.
