mocionante historia es la que precede a la
Comunitat Valenciana. Desde sus primeros
pobladores, quienes dejaron testimonio de
su existencia en expresiones rupestres que
se encuentran desde Alicante hasta More-
lla; así como los asentamientos romanos que en el año
138 a.C. fundaron
Valentia Edetanorum
, hasta el paso
de la conquista árabe que forma parte de la esencia de
estas tierras que integran a la región levantina.
Uno de los hitos de la región, convertido en leyen-
da, es Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, el Cid Campeador, cuyas
hazañas lo llevaron a figurar como un personaje insig-
ne de la historia y la literatura castellanas.
Cada una de las tres provincias que integran la
comunidad, Alicante, Castellón y Valencia, se distin-
guen por contar con características que las hacen
únicas. En Alicante, por ejemplo, caminar por las
hermosas playas de finas arenas de la Costa Blanca,
resulta una práctica relajante y renovadora; por su
parte, Castellón un extraordinario ejemplo de ciudad
gótica, declarada Bien de Interés Cultural, invita a un
recorrido por su castillo y murallas medievales; así
como a conocer las pinturas rupestres de Morella.
En Valencia, el sol y las buenas temperaturas,
son los mejores anfitriones de una ciudad ideal para
disfrutar atractivos como el paseo marítimo, sabo-
rear una exquisita paella, en alguna de las terrazas
características del puerto, recorrer las calles del Cen-
tro Histórico o dejarse impresionar por la Ciudad de
las Artes y las Ciencias. De la misma forma que cada
una de las provincias cuenta con interesantes atrac-
tivos, también brindan un sinnúmero de costumbres,
tradiciones y pintorescas fiestas, que complementan
la experiencia, para convertir la visita a la Comunitat
Valenciana en una experiencia inolvidable.

he Comunitat Valenciana has a thrill-
ing history. From its first inhabit-
ants, who left proof of their existence
in the Pre-historic Art that can be
found from Alicante to Morella; just
as the Roman settlements who in 138 BC founded
Valentia Edetanorum
, to the Arab conquest that is
a part of the essence of the lands that are the Le-
vantine region.
