All the professional experience and passion for tennis that Leonardo Lavalle spilt through the courts of Mexico and of the world in his stage as a player are now turned in an academy that is named Roddick Lavalle Academy, located at San Antonio, Texas.

“It’s an academy where children from all over the world come to train and study. I’m associated with Kohn Roddick, brother of the professional tennis player Andy Roddick. We’ve had this project for three years now and we train kids of high sports performance. Is a school for those infants that want to make it in tennis professionally, but also for those who don’t want to become professional players, because we have several programs”, He said during an interview with AMURA Yacht & Lifestyle, Leonardo Lavalle.

The former tennis player pointed out that it’s a small academy compared to the large professional tennis academies, but what makes it very special is that the 5 coaches that are in charge of the academy have many years of experience and are also the owners, reason why they offer an personalized attention and treatment.

For example, one of the programs for local sportsmen allows them to train daily from 5 to 7 in the afternoon. But in the case of children or youngster’s from other parts of the world and who live in the academy, some attend private schools, but for those who home school (through Internet) that have a school director that tutors them, supervises their academicals studies and exams.

As part of the discipline, who ever doesn’t fulfill is academicals work is not allowed to play tennis.

Out of the 30 children that currently live in the academy, six are Mexicans. Due to the San Antonio proximity with Mexico ¨what we want is to help to soon have a player that can transcend and be within the top 100 of the world list. That is my goal as a Mexican, plus I love training children and youngsters¨ highlighted Leonardo Lavalle.

On the other hand, he added that many of the academy’s attendees, after two years of being them acquire scholarships for universities, some ivy league ones like Princeton, Boston College, Duke, University of Texas, among others.

To conclude, he mentioned they have everything needed to progress in tennis, a very high level of teaching and a great physical training program.
