A little more on Holbox
Holbox means in Mayan “black hole”, which refers to the colour of its beautiful lagoon. The island has about 2,000 inhabitants, who are dedicated to fishing and sustainable tourism, with 42 km long and two wide, the island offers 36 kilometers of pristine beaches of white sand, coral, mangroves and lagoons. It is located to the North of the State of Quintana Roo, 160 kilometers from Cancun and Merida 180.
