When a product is launched, it faces a long road before it can be positioned. But there are outstanding exceptions and, happily, Grey Goose is one of them.
World’s Best Tasting Vodka is how Grey Goose was described by The Beverage Testing Institute in 1997, just shortly after it began to appear in the finest wine cellars of the most renowned restaurants in Paris, which is the capital, par excellence, of the world’s most famous alcoholic beverages.
There are several extraordinary reasons why that prestigious institution awarded Grey Goose with the distinction of World’s Best
Tasting Vodka.
- Its perfect manufacturing process.
- Its certification as “exquisite” by those who know good liquors.
- The spiraling demand for this product, during its first few years of production, by the most reknowned beverage centers in the Western Hemisphere.
World’s Best Tasting Vodka in the World appeared in an 1997, an area near Cognac, a French landmark.
It is made from wheat, cultivated 100 % in La Beauce, in the French countryside, and filtered water, one of life’s elements.
The Grey Goose distillation process consists of five steps, all under the strict supervision of the Mâitre de Chai, the Master Distiller. La Beauce’s characteristic benign weather and altitude make it perfect for growing the finest wheat on the Old Continent.
And this gives life to the finest liquor, not only in Europe but the world. This grain, that is used in making the most select pastries, contains less protein and more starch, a condition that is good for alcoholic beverages, because in the process the bacillus contain more nutrients.
The superiority of this wheat gives the liquor a purity and smoothness that makes it slightly stronger than vodkas made from other grains like rye, for example.
This is why 100% of the wheat used for manufacturing Grey Goose is cultivated in La Beauce, a region southeast from Paris.
Grey Goose’s smoothness and refined flavor is the product of a careful, well-planned distillation process.
There are five distillation steps: Separate the water from the alcohol and remove impurities. In the following four steps the liquor is distilled, maximizing the unique qualities of the wheat to assure an end product with the Grey Goose characteristics.
Pure spring water is another key factor in The World’s Best Tasting Vodka. It comes from the Massif Mountains, located in the heart of France, travels along 400 km (248.5 m) of aquifers, and surfaces in the Gensac spring.
When it comes to the surface, the water is filtered naturally and it is during this process the limestone in the Champagne region makes a significant contribution.
The water is mixed with the liquor under the eyes of the Mâitre de Chai, until it has the flavor and strength required.
Enjoying Grey Goose is an exceptional experience for all the senses. In addition to its sweet aroma, you can immediately perceive the purity of the wheat used in making it: smooth and exuberant, of a rich consistency and possessing a delicious flavor that our taste buds do not easily forget.
Since Grey Goose and Cognac are created with the same care and experience that comes with tradition, both alcoholic beverages share some attributes: refinement and smoothness, as well as an enduring finish.
The World’s Best Tasting Vodka well deserves an artistic bottle. Made of heavy glass, “the desire bottle” is hand made by French artisans. It is stylized, distinguished and it looks like it belongs to the finest tables.
On the face of the bottle is an engraving of great Massif mountain. Grey Goose can be enjoyed straight or Russian style, with a wedge of lemon, although a classic Grey Goose martini cocktail shows off its smoothness and flavor.
In addition to classic Grey Goose, there is also L’Orange and Le Citron. Each of the flavors has been created to be the best of its class in the world. Unlike other flavors of vodka, which are artificial, Grey Goose is authentic, offering the true flavor of its carefully selected ingredients: Florida oranges for Grey Goose L’Orange and Sicilian limes for Grey Goose Le Citron.
To fully enjoy the aroma and flavors of Grey Goose, they should be savored straight or Russian style. For cocktails, we highly recommend a Cosmopolitan for L’Orange and a Lemon Drop for Le Citron.
Almost ten years have gone by since it was launched, and its obvious superiority has made it a New French Classic, both for its fine ingredients as for its sophisticated distillation process.
We can add that the World’s Best Tasting Vodka is the ultimate status symbol, reflected on those who drink it, and it gives a touch of distinction to events where it is served. Grey Goose is a vodka for everyone, enriching their lifestyles with the best liquors nature can provide.
