This year 2015, in Acapulco, Guerrero, the most prestigious tennis tournament in Latin America, the Mexican Open Telcel presented by HSBC lived it up with a successful ATP Hot Tour edition.

In its XXII edition, the second one played on hard court, the players disputed the title of Champion and a 1.2 million dollars prize from the Association of Tennis Professionals (male) and a 250,000 dollars prize from the Women Tennis Association.  The ATP tour displayed an intense and exciting run to the podium. The favorite, Spaniard David Ferrer, played the final match against the Japanese Kei Nishikori, defeating him 6-3 and 7-5.

On the WTA, the winner was Swiss Timea Bacsinszky, who took the crown after defeating French Caroline Garcia (6-3 y 6-0). Some other remarkable figures, in the sport event were Russian Maria Sharapova, Italian Sara Errani, Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and South African Kevin Anderson.

 

 

International level infrastructure

With a vision to offer a unique event of international excellence, Mextenis stadium underwent heavy transformations, such as the Grand Stand, which opened more space for a greater number of attendants; making thus the stadium more appealing and amazing as an added value for the aficionados.

Leading a team as AMT is a motive of pride, because it has demonstrated that remarkable outcomes can be attained in Mexico.”

 

 

Telcel: 11 years in the passion for tennis
