Everything you could possibly want, everywhere you could possibly want it.

Galactica Star is a 65 metre Heesen – the largest yacht we have ever built. It is the world’s first aluminium yacht with a fast displacement hull. As a result, she has achieved what was considered impossible if you think along conventional lines. Fortunately, Heesen does not.

In a world where a 5 per cent gain is considered a triumph, this hull is 30 per cent more efficient than any other yet tested.

A top speed of over 28 knots but using 20 per cent less fuel than conventional yachts. A range of 4.200 miles at 14 knots and the highest power to weight ratio of any comparable yacht.

Leave aside the technical and enjoy the lifestyle. Deck space is staggering with over 267 square metres on her three upper decks.

The foredeck is both a helipad and sun terrace set over gull wing doors that open to reveal a full beam tender garage.

With five zero speed gyro stabilizers, Galactica Star handles like no other yacht of her size. She is also incredibly steady at anchor. The sleek, streamlined superstructure is perfectly balanced both above and below the sea by a special bow that cuts through the water.

With her incredible speed advantage, while other yachts are cruising to the destination, you and your guests are relaxing on the sun deck.

Beach club? It’s more like an entire private resort. The side platform measures over 10 square metres, perfect for two sunbeds and a drinks table. The swimming platform is 22 square metres, ideal for four more guests to relax and decide the best way to take a swim - dive in or elegantly descend the carbon-fibre stepladder.

Inside is the beach club’s 77 square metre air-conditioned lounge; comfortable sofas, a fully stocked bar, a sauna and large plasma screen. Set out under four skylights that span almost the entire width of the deck, banquette sofas and Glyn Peter Machin signature armchairs create an incredibly relaxed atmosphere. Steps lead up to the infinity view glass bottom 3,5 metre Jacuzzi.

Deck space from stem to stern - sunbathe, relax, swim, entertain. Galactica Star is the epitome of the Heesen theme: everything you could possibly want, everywhere you could possibly want it.

Sun deck

The foredeck has a sunbathing terrace as well as a casual dining area. Shade is provided by awnings tethered to demountable pillars. This is also such a great place for a party with a dance area few clubs could rival.

There is a choice of ten locations to dine: a quick snack in the beach club to a long lazy lunch on the sun deck, a candle-lit dinner with gorgeous panoramic views on the upper deck terrace, a finger buffet and cocktails on the foredeck, Champagne and crudités at the main deck bar, the more formal setting of the main dining saloon.

The sky lounge and upper deck dining terrace combine into a wonderful space of over 70 square metres. It can be either intimate for two guests or large enough for entertaining a group of friends.

The main deck bar and aft terrace. A bioethanol fireplace, backlit LED ceiling, a bar with polished steel strips and an oak floor with bleached wenge detailing, create an intimate highly sophisticated atmosphere.

The 92 square metre triple aspect main saloon with a formal dining area that leads through to the mid section bar and out to the lounge. Bannenberg and Rowell’s interior design is dramatic, striking, highly original and extremely demanding of several different skills quite apart from the final construction process. Heesen Yachts Interiors and Sinnex worked together to create complex panelling, intricate furniture pieces and inlaid surfaces that can only be described as the art of craftsmanship.

Main deck dine-in galley

Part of the overall concept is the interaction between guests and crew – particularly with regard to food. The large main deck galley has a chef’s table, a concept taken from the world’s top restaurants.

A grand staircase connects the lower three decks. The circular walls are lined with macassar ebony with polished steel stripes, like all the other detailing, made in-house at our metal works department.

The 72 square metre master suite is on the main deck. The full beam bedroom includes a private balcony screened off behind full height windows. Breathtaking levels of light and spectacular views make this such an inspiring inner sanctum. A mirrored wall opposite the walk-in wardrobe only further serves to emphasise the size of the suite.

The bathroom is almost entirely built of heavyweight stone, veneered by skilled Heesen masons to a thickness of a few millimeters.

Custom-made Lexington marble basins are set into silver travertine vanity units. Matching marble panels over such a large number of surfaces and different directions was a task of fastidious dedication. Twelve guests sleep in a master suite, an upper deck VIP bedroom with a separate lounge and four lower deck double suites all with bathrooms of the same peerless quality as the master.
