The Beginning of a Dynasty

For the past 28 years, this young Dutch shipyard has taken his clients by the hand in the construction of yachts for their complete sa-tisfaction, with all the quality and dedication that is necessary to succeed, in a region that has been designing ships for centuries. This is how Moonen has introduced itself to the world assuring a transcending trajectory through time.

Darsea, -name with Irish as well as French origins that means of black hair or strength-, is a yacht that represents the spirit of this company, the first one of the 97 series, created for clients in search of a ship with great autonomy and intermediate size, between the Moonen 72 and the Moonen 124, with a remarked inspiration in the successful Moonen 84 Series and the Moonen 96 “Clementine” custom made.

The exterior owes its shape to René van der Velden Design and the hull that brings comfort, economy and stability is a work from Diana Yacht Design.

This transatlantic has a four thousand nautical miles autonomy (more than seven thousand kilometers) that, with its steel hull’s robustness and the aluminum superstructure, gives us the certainty of completing the great intercontinental travesty with tranquility.

On its exterior we can rejoice ourselves in the fly-bridge, due to its wide areas, the excellent distribution and to enjoy it even more, at port we can jump into the Jacuzzi on the stern side, after the rotor arm crane, the dinghy, the wave runner and the ladder that leads to the main deck.

Under the hard top we find some couches orien-ted towards the stern side, some stools in the kitchen zone, behind a dividing bar. A comfortable table welcomes us to have dinner or lunch at port and starboard. A perfect kitchen to prepare an abundant feast while outdoors. Further ahead is the cockpit and the stern access to the lower deck.

Once on the main deck, we find on the prow exterior, a generous sunbathing area. Immediately ahead, on the interior, is the main command bridge equipped with the latest in technology and where every navigation and security equipments on board are perfectly monitored.

On our tour towards stern, we find the kitchen on port side and the main ladder on starboard side, as well as a day head. Towards the back we find the bar on starboard side. A beam separates us from the working area and a small door from the kitchen. On starboard we find the dinning room, with enough space for 10 companions, chairs on one side and large couch on the other for more space and giving it a continuous feeling.

Finally, in the lower section we find the saloon where a love seat is located in each side of the room, separated by a single couch table and a center table.

On the lower deck, on the stern side, we find the crew cabins composed by two rooms with bunk beds, two full bathrooms, a dinning area, a “U” shaped couch and a squared table, there’s also a separated third room on the starboard side.

The next thing towards prow is the engine room, accessed through the corridor in the crew area. The other entrance for the lower deck is loca-ted is in the main deck, going down the stairs we are received by the foyer, that leads us to the VIP room, located in prow, with personal bathroom ad a very spacious closet.

Back in the corridor we find two guest rooms with two single beds and a bathroom each, at the end of the corridor, in the middle of the boat, we find the main room with a bigger bathroom than the other 3 rooms.

The interior, designed by Art-Line, is filled with different woods like bamboo and cherry tree, as well as wengé, a much desired tropical wood from Africa used in this case to make very fine crafted pieces of wood.
