Sophistication and High Performance

Straight, smooth lines, a metallic silver hull, capable of crossing the Mediterranean at 40 knots with the assistance of a TF40 turbine, the Thunder B, built to the specifications of its owner, is a high performance, functional vessel.

We present this flash of lightning, that is a standout on the seas and one of the latest novelties on the Mediterranean. Created by Oceanfast, the Australian shipyard, and commercialized by Edmiston Company, it sells for 23.5 million Euros.

Its functionalism is evident in the sophisticated diesel MTU motor propulsion system as well as in the Allied Signal gas turbine, a centrally mounted 4.500 hp, with three Kamewa water jets.

On the upper deck are the enormous gas turbine air vents that have been incorporated into the design.

The 163.4 foot (49.8 meter) yacht can accommodate 10 guests in luxuriously decorated cabins, with interiors designed by Jon Bannenberg that were created especially for Oceanfast’s most distinguished motor yacht.

The structure is super-light and solid, and the interiors are cozy. As just one example of its construction, everything from the keel to the main “whale’s tale” antenna is made of glass, carbon and other fibers.

It has five staterooms, including the owner’s suite, located in the middle of the lower deck, which can be enlarged by incorporating the admiral’s cabin.

The Thunder B also features double, single and guest cabins, with twin bunk beds placed at a 45 degree angle, in an attempt to eliminate the narrow aisle needed between these beds and make the cabins more spacious. Neutral colors are used in the carpeting and upholstery. In the saloon is a Matisse-inspired tapestry that can be retracted in order to set up a large projection screen.

The influence of Matisse is seen everywhere in the Thunder, even in the reclining seats, the owner’s private study, and the framed lithographs on the walls. Bannenberg was, most certainly, inspired by the taste of his clients.

Another highlight is the 7-meter (30-foot) pool and, astern, a platform that is spacious enough for enjoying the sun and sea on the deck of this motor yacht.
