Bénetéau Oceanis Clipper 473

This French sailboat is outstanding precisely because of its versatility. Even from the moment it is built its use can be defined thanks to the three interior distribution options that Bénéteau offers. Once on the water, the Oceanis Clipper 473 will be totally at home in any place as well as the best in whatever activity in which it participates, be it a leisurely afternoon sail or a fast journey across the water.

Concerning technical aspects, we can point out that the one-piece hull is made of polyester and reinforced in the parts that require it the most such as, for example, the keel or steering wheel. Inside, there is a counter-mold that distributes exertion and pressure in order to demand less of the hull, making it harder for it to suffer structural damage. The counter-mold is smooth and easily cleaned which translates into a better finish.

The three available versions mean that the owner of an Oceanis Clipper 473 will experience both power and beauty in a totally personal experience since he or she can make it fit their own needs or requirements. The four cabin version features two cabins aft, with a double bed and private bathroom as well as storage space, and two cabins in the bow (in both cases, a cabin to port and another to starboard) without a bathroom. In this version the galley is located to port.

In the three-cabin version, the two in the bow are combined into a much larger one with its own bathroom and even an armchair within the same cabin. The two aft remain the same except that the one to starboard does not have a bathroom. Besides, the galley in the common area is moved and located starboard and its size is larger as well as its distribution since this version has an L-shaped form. The living area is complemented with a portside sofa.  In the two cabins version there is obviously more all over space. There is a cabin on the bow, as in the three-cabin version, the saloon is the same, as is the L-shaped galley. The difference is that their size is increased and the two aft cabins become one with its own bathroom located to port. To starboard there is a free area for storage.

As to the exterior, owners can ask for a version in steel blue, which, from my perspective, is even prettier that the traditional white with blue and silver details. The exterior area has twin steering wheels, a swim platform and a spacious exterior living area that can be used as a dining room thanks to the removable table. An important feature is that the whole exterior, with the exception of the stern (living/dining room, steering wheels and swim platform) is full of domes and windows, which permit natural light to enter the interior.
