Pure 21st century
Britain is the proud asembler of the Sunseeker fleet, and once again the black and white hull of the mean Predator line skims the suface of water around the globe with its 68A cruising at about 30 knots (max speed 39 knots). The 68A is Predator’s perfect midsize member with a lighter hull formation that has greatly enhanced performance, without sacrificing luxury and style. Sunseeker’s pioneering drive and propulsion systems, along with the latest engine technology, ensure an efficient distribution of power, overwhelming speeds, and incomparable ease of handling.
Capped by a retractable bimini hard-top, the spacious cockpit of the stylish 69 foot Predator (including pulpit) offers fantastic panoramic views. Her bursting power pushes the yacht up at the bow, and with her two tiered helm station, it forces the pilot to stand at the helm or use the bolster on the driver’s seat for a better sightline. “You get used to driving these bigger, long-nosed boats by looking up and way ahead”.
There is a large entertainment space just aft of the helm on the starboard side including an electric grill, sink, stowage cabinet, cool box, ice maker, and a cutting board. On the port side, behind the helm station is a comfortable outdoor seating area for informal meals or an aperitif at sundown. The decks are all teak, including the steps and the roomy swim platform. The platform hydraulically “sinks” about three feet, handy to launch your tender from the cavernous garage or carry a runabout or jetski. It is obvious that the Predator 68A has been equipped with amenities for fun on the water.
The entertainment and accomodation deck, down below, is comfortably setup with an optional threestateroom, three-head configuration or a two suite configuration, both designed around the saloon and kitchen. There are ample stowage areas in all the quarters for those long trips. The guest cabin has underberth stowage and a closet. The master also has stowage beneath the double berth as well as a pair of closets. The interior finish is of beautifully crafted cherry. The saloon’s generous seating area, featuring a sweeping leather couch and hinged-leaf table on the starboard side — closed it sits four and open, up to eight guests. The galley, with long granite countertop, refrigerator and freezer, four-burner electric stovetop, and a dishwasher, is to port. There are lots of cabinets and drawer space here, plus a microwave and built-in coffee maker.
The combination of performance and luxury works well aboard the Predator 68 A. She’s exciting to drive, and with all her gadgets, this yacht can pamper her owners and guests in grand luxury and style. Her mean good looks, her magnificent hull design and her marvelous interiors including the notable woodwork and European finish make this yacht “pure 21st century”. As far as performance, comfort and safety is concerned, the 68A definitely puts on a good show in most sea conditions.
