Speed, Technology, Comfort

Overmarine Shipyards, better known in the sailing world as Mangusta, introduces the   Mangusta 148 ‘Oceano. It is part of the well-recognized line of Large Open Fast yachts, which is distinguished from the rest by allowing an optimal sailing experience in terms of speed, convenience and technology. It was designed by architect Stefano Righini. It can comfortably accommodate 12 guests plus a crew of 9 professionals. It combines neatness with its aggressive exterior lines and a large, comfortable space on board.

The Mangusta 148’ Oceano, is the first displacement hull yacht with three decks. This is an innovation even within the range of the Large Open series, and could well be the first of a new breed based on this design, offering the owner comfort on board by integrating the latest technology processes with the most advanced marine equipment commercially available. Its impeccable technology and total comfort are the keys. The super yacht Mangusta 148 ‘Oceano, like all models Ovewrmarine Group, was designed and tested with the collaboration of several European companies specializing in fluid dynamics.

No doubt the first feature that stands out from the Oceano, is its size. It measures 45.5 meters long and 9.20 meters wide, with a draft of 2.35 meters which is quite adequate. It is powered by two MTU 12V4000 M53R twin diesel engines. These machines produce a maximum speed of 15 knots and a range of 6,400 km (4000 miles) at 12 knots, its cruising speed.

On the main deck we can find the lounge and the dining room, with a large gallery. The bow is a full width owner’s suite with a private living room that has a door equipped with a hydraulic platform that can be folded open to create a balcony. On the lower deck there are four guest cabins, two VIP and two twins, all with private bathrooms. The bow is the crew area, which consists of four double cabins. The Captain is located next to the controller port on the top cover. There is also another room in and a large area in the open.

The outdoor areas blend perfectly in style, comfort and sociability. At the aft, a large swim platform allows to live in direct contact with the sea, and a generous open area which serves to entertain. It has a bar and a dining area, a Jacuzzi, sofas for sunbathing and a sophisticated “home theater”. The interior designs are inspired by the architect Carlo Colombo, the global ambassador of Italian design. He began his collaboration with Overmarine Group | Mangusta with this model. This materials and forms project was born from an idea of unorthodox and modern life. The interiors are a continuous stylish choice, made of fine details and a specific study of materials.

The conversation and the television areas may be separate or combined, via a system of sliding panels that give a strong character tone to the entire surrounding space. A place where warm shades are predominant, it has applications of natural wood, polished metal, and lacquer. The choice of these materials gives the place a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The bedrooms, where material selection focuses on fabrics and wood paneling, has the taste of elegant and comfortable suites.

Speed, high technology, innovative design, and yet, the luxury motor yacht Mangusta 148 ‘Oceano can pride itself of offering the family atmosphere that characterizes its yachts Mangusta Open from 20 to 60 meters.
