The archetype of Evolution

Heesen Book Ends began as Project Ruya, the 13th restyled Heesen’s 47-metre class designed by Frank Laupman at Omega Architects, while Bannenberg & Rowell created a rich and luxurious interior style inspired by the theme of kinetic energy—the perfect base to personalize the space to the Owner’s taste and lifestyle. The vessel was delivered last summer, when it sailed through the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to attend the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Book Ends’ classic-contemporary design embodies everything Heesen stands for, with strikingly luxurious interiors, state-of-the-art engineering and naval architecture. The steel hull with bulbous bow provides smooth and safe cruising in all sea conditions, equipped with two MTU diesel engines 8V 4000 M63  that reach a top speed of 15 knots with a transatlantic range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Book Ends has evolved from previous versions; the wheelhouse is handsomely furnished to create an efficient working environment for the captain and his team, and the innovative bridge has been designed by Heesen experts, built in-house and installed with meticulous care and attention with any future maintenance requirements in mind. Book Ends has been built to exceed the latest MCA regulations for crew working space and accommodation.

The galley, considered the heart of a yacht by some, has a very efficient and ergonomic layout, which has also been perfected over the years thanks to the feedback of expert chefs who have worked on Book Ends’ sister ships. With large windows and separate crew corridor, Book Ends galley is the perfect space for preparing delicious meals in a safe and practical working environment with plenty of storage space and work surface.

Book Ends’ engine room embodies the knowledge the Dutch shipyard has acquired in 40 years of superyacht building. Spacious and perfectly organized, it offers the engineer easy-to-access equipment for efficient operation and maintenance.
