A New Way to Live Life on Board

Sanlorenzo is ready to conquer the seas with the first model of their new range: the crossover concept SX88, a 27-meter yacht that defies dimensionality and which emphasizes the shipyard’s unmistakable style and elegance. The yacht was built with a Grp displacement hull and carbon fiber superstructure painted in dark shades to reduce volume perception, in addition to large glassed surfaces that create an effective and optimized relationship between interior and exterior.

The SX88 was created in-house by Sanlorenzo’s stylists, led by Luca Santella, yacht designer, developer of the Bluegame range of motoryachts, in collaboration with Officina Italiana Design’s Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, who poured even more elegance to her exterior design. Interior design was spearheaded by the famous Italian interior designer Piero Lissoni, working with a very simple idea: designing an open space boat. This concept focuses on transforming a yacht into what a loft is: a social, highly livable space, with no rigid separation between different areas and a flexible layout.

“The timeless elegance of Sanlorenzo yachts and their simple language has found an ideal interpreter in Piero Lissoni.”.
– Massimo Perotti, Chairman/CEO at Sanlorenzo.

This innovative two-deck vessel offers a customizable solution for the fore area of the salon on the main deck, which can be arraigned as the owner’s cabin, or remain a wide multi-functional space. The salon is fully equipped and furnished with double L shaped sofas with coffee tables, plus an extended sunbathing surface, unusual for a 27-meter. Aft the ship, the beach club is positioned five steps lower than the main deck and can accommodate a 15’ tender, a jet ski and other toys; the crane to handle them is cleverly and elegantly hidden so that it doesn’t disturb the yacht’s outline.

The lower deck can accommodate four or five double cabins depending on the chosen layout, including the owner’s cabin. The crew quarter is located astern, just fore the engine room, which, thanks to the Volvo IPS 1200 power train, is located farther back compared to traditional in-line transmissions.

Sanlorenzo also paid special attention to sustainability, using procedures and materials specifically designed to reduce environmental impact. The combination of high power lithium batteries with new lighting technologies, low consumption systems, efficient thermal insulation assured by the special new insulating glass fit on the windows, allows the SX88 to use all the services on board for four to eight hours at “zero emissions.” Praising Sanlorenzo’s efforts, Rina awarded the SX88 with the Green Class.
