Elegance and modernity from another world

When two companies with a long career or reputation behind them in their respective fields come together to bring to light a new concept, can only result in a masterpiece. This is how The Porsche Design Group and Royal Falcon Fleet come together to create a ship that combines an ultra modern appearance with functionality: the RFF135 Catamaran.

Porsche Design did not venture in building yachts until 2007, when they collaborated with Fearless Yachts in the design of some of their speedboats, thus undoubtedly the RFF135 represents a step forward for the French firm. And although other car manufacturers like Audi and Volkswagen have also ventured into the sea, Porsche presents a mega yacht without equal.

Unlike most yachts over 135 feet, the hull of the RFF135 is not made with the fiberglass base, but made entirely of aluminum. This is because only a material this endurable is required to reach the look of “spaceship on the water” which was projected from the planning concept. Thus, the yacht combines old elements, such as the catamaran configuration, with futuristic details.

The feeling of touch with technology from another time is most felt in the cabin, the controls are mounted on a table shaped gray crescent, the metallic black frames surrounding the measuring devices are intimidating, give the impression to be untouchable, and that any alteration would truncate the expedition. Both seats have a practical design and are upholstered in white leather and gray, the predominant color of the entire boat, with the exception of the wooden floor, is on a gray scale in a masterly manner to give a timeless perception.

The description of the cabin is essential because this part of the ship summarizes what the rest of the creation is: an avant-garde and luxurious style that doesn’t need great decorations to create an elegant atmosphere. But there’s more: following the line of the functionality, within the length over all of 41 meters and the length on waterline of 12 meters, in the RFF135 Catamaran there is space to receive 10 guests and 10 crewmembers on the lower deck and has a pool that can become heliport. It is capable of traveling at 35 knots and is equipped with two MTU 16V4000 M93L turbo diesel engines generating 4.600 horsepower that requires 750 liters of fuel per hour.

Inside the vessel, much of the deck is ready to provide a great sense of privacy for the owner with respect to the nearest cabins, the presidential suite is surrounded by tinted windows facing directly into the ocean, has a walk- in closet and large bathroom. There is a lounge adjacent to the master suit, in the middle there is a circular table with four chairs and two armchairs at the sides of the stern windows, that display a minimalist design. The silver tone stands on the backs of the seats and on the edge of the furniture, two small oval-shaped crystal tables, give a sophisticated appearance.

For the guests three suits with their private bathroom are arranged, with tinted windows like the master bedroom. To socialize with them in the same deck, on the side of the bow, there is a room with a sofa on its center and other to the edge, with the shape of the quarter of a circle, is a comfortable space to maintain a pleasant chat, without solemnities and accompanied with a cocktail. At the other end there’s a larger room with a table in a “U” and two smaller sides, in front of them, on both sides of the entrance door, there are two TV screens to watch movies.

Vanguard, elegance, minimalism, practicality, it’s what you can expect from the RFF 135, a boat with everything you need to venture into the ocean and impress the inhabitants of the seas, the skies and perhaps other worlds.
