Sanlorenzo has built boats that set an example of technology innovations, refinement and splendor and an exhaustive attention to detail. In the category of super yachts, one of the most noteworthy not only within the range belonging to the firm, but for the world of luxury yachts, is the Sanlorenzo SL108’.
Built in Italy by Sanlorenzo - Cantieri Navali Di Ameglia and in collaboration with Studio Dellarole the Sanlorenzo 108’ boasts 33 meters in length with 7.40 meters wide and a draft of 2.5 meters. The hull is made from a GRP composite, as well as the main deck superstructure. Also, the flybridge, built out of fiberglass, is the reason why this vessel has been designated as the flagship of the Italian firm.
The exterior design with the features and interior plans are integrated into the Sanlorenzo 108’ in order to provide balance and comfort to the owner. Its elegant and streamlined profile certainly evokes the style in which the Italian firm has been known within the nautical world. The main deck is surrounded by a window strip in the usual Sanlorenzo fashion.
The flybridge is built on the main deck, where six cushioned teak chairs are placed, and includes a Jacuzzi and a bar with refrigerator, this convenience makes it possible to comfortably enjoy the incredible sea view. In this area of the ship a secondary, smaller helm station is available. Under the flybridge, in the main deck, is the control room, equipped with the latest in navigation technology.
The polished mahogany interior is carefully crafted and predominates in all the living areas aboard the yacht. Of course, style and materials are subject to the preferences and needs of the owner.
On the main deck is the saloon, in which both the owner and his guests have at their disposal an entertainment center that includes a 40’’LCD, satellite television signals and DVD. Further towards the stern sits a family dining room for 10 people and behind it is located the kitchen with a dinette. Through several changes made at the request of Sanlorenzo customers, a new area within the design was created. The bulkhead was extended further forward and changed the location of the stairs to the lower deck, which resulted in space for a media room, equipped with a 50’’ LCD screen and a fully equipped entertainment center.
The master stateroom is located towards the bow and its extension covers the full width of the yacht, giving ample room. This gives the owner great lighting due to its large windows, placed strategically around the cabin. It also has a 40” LCD, a relaxation area and a comfortable and spacious bathroom including tub and shower.
The VIP guest cabins are located on the lower deck right in the middle of the yacht, one of which offers a double bed, dressing room and bathroom, while the other has twin beds and a bathroom. The crew accommodation features a cabin for the captain and two other cabins for the rest of the members, all of them with private bath.
In the lower deck, towards aft, the garage can house a small boat and a jetski. In the same level there is a laundry room, and the crew’s dining. On its technical aspect, the capabilities of the machinery that power the Sanlorenzo SL108 are installed in the lower deck. With them, a top speed of 28 knots (51.9 km / h) and a cruising speed of 24 knots (44.4 km / h) can be reached thanks to the two MTU engines 16V2000M93 of 2434Hp.
The SL 108’ still has the presence it had when it was first launched. Recently, the new owner of one of these boats requested a change in the model: to take the roof off, literally. This version is the first 108’ without hard top, although this doesn’t mean it lacks some kind of protection from the sun, since it has the classic arc of antennas more elongated than in the original layout.
