The world's leading shipyards have had a great year, with stunning results in superyacht deliveries. Here is a list of the longest boats already sailing the seas.

Opera | Lürseen Yachts | 479 ft.

From the Lürssen Yachts shipyard in Bremen, Germany, Opera features a pair of helipads, one at the bow and the other on the fourth deck, exclusively for take-offs and landings. The interior and exterior were designed by the British studio Terence Disdale Design.

Among its many attractions are a cinema room, swimming pool, beauty salon, steam bath, solarium, gymnasium and a private elevator to move around the four decks detailed in teak.

Thanks to her technology and the power of her six engines, she offers a range of 5,000 nautical miles (nm), at a cruising speed of 19.5 knots (it reaches a maximum of 22 knots), with 36 guests on board, accommodated in 18 suites, all served by a crew of 50.

Ali Baba | Lürssen Yachts | 465 ft.

The superyacht Ali Baba, built by Lürssen Yachts, is a 465 ft. yacht that was launched at Lürssen's Bremen Lemwerder facility in Germany. Construction began in 2019 under great secrecy and she will set sail in December 2023. She features Lürssen's signature elongated bow, with angular contours and bold exterior elements that give the ship a powerful image. She has four spacious decks, allowing her to combine sophistication with an aggressive military touch.

The secrecy of its construction was lost when a technical malfunction in the dock door at the Bremen shipyard allowed it to be observed before launch. It was last seen in mid-2022, when its two halves were spotted.

Now completed, it has a gray profile with an elongated bow and distinctive exterior lines that span all four decks, including two helidecks. She has stylistic similarities to the Pacific Yacht, another 270 ft. Lürssen model, with an exterior design by German Frers.

Luminance | Lürssen Yachts | 452 ft.

Luminance is a 452-feet superyacht built by Lürssen Yachts in Bremen, Germany. It is considered the largest private yacht built by the yard, the eighth largest model from the company, and the fifteenth largest in the world. The exterior design is by Espen Øino International, which includes a helipad, with interiors by French firm Zuretti Interior Design and naval architecture by the same department at Lürssen Yachts.

Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, her luxurious interior features teak decks. Its twin engines give it a cruising speed of 15 knots and a top speed of 20 knots. The advanced stabilization system of Luminance ensures a comfortable ride.

Norn | Lürseen Yachts | 295 ft.

Norn is a 295 ft. yacht with an exterior design by Espen Oeino International, with a precise geometry of flat surfaces, straight lines and angular corners. The interior was designed by Dölker & Voges Design of Hamburg, which included a helipad at the bow.

The vessel is equipped with zero-speed stabilizers for a smooth and comfortable ride and offers entertainment options for every occasion, including an open-air movie theater and a pool with a hydraulic floor that converts into a dance floor. A dynamic positioning system allows the vessel to be electronically anchored in sensitive and remote areas, protecting the seabed and ensuring safe mooring regardless of water depth.

Designed by Cornelsen & Partner, who paid meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all aspects of the yacht met the highest standards of craftsmanship and innovation, the boat can reach a speed of 18 knots.

Obsidian | Feadship | 276 ft.

Obsidian is one of Feadship's most technically advanced and dynamically designed models in recent years. According to the design team, the brief was to question and challenge all yacht design norms, both architecturally and technically, to create a next generation project.

For the first time, Feadship launched a model with a single level engine room, allowing for much more creativity in the accommodation. Both the exterior design and the interior architecture and design are by the British firm RWD in collaboration with Monk Design.

This is Feadship's next step towards building zero-emission superyachts by 2030. It is the first of a new generation of large vessels to promote carbon reduction through a hull optimized for cruising speed rather than top speed. Its generators run on HVO, a second generation biodiesel that is a net-zero CO2 fuel. Using Feadship's Advanced Electrical Drive (FAED) program for diesel-electric hybrid power, Obsidian has 4.5 times the electrical storage capacity of Feadship's first hybrid model, Savannah.
