Saint Michel Island / France

image Enlarge

Mount Saint-Michel is a rocky island at the mouth of the Couesnon River, in France. It is inaccessible. For centuries, the spectacular tides of the bay helped making the mount a fortress. A Saint Michael’s statue is placed on the top of the monastic church that is found 170 meters above the shore.
