Minimalistic Elegance

This hotel opened its doors the 30 of July of 2007, managed by the group of the same name after the resounding success of its property in Sao Paulo. The planning of this project was very carefully taken care of since the beginning: an excellent location, in the heart of the most popular area of the city (Ipanema) of the Avenue Vieira Souto, at the sea shore.

The proposal of this hotel has been to combine the refined and artistic spirit of the city, with an excellent service and the sophistication of the contemporary design. This has been achieved far exceeded, since it has become a favorite for visitors and Brazilians equally.

The design was in charge of the worldwide well known designer Philippe Starck, who chose materials as the wood, the crystal and the marble as a base. From the exterior to its decoration, the environment in this hotel is inspired in the best of the tendencies of the Brazilian design of the 50’s and 60’s, including pieces of the designers Studio Branco&Preto, Sergio Rodrigues and Starck himself.

One of the many charms of this hotel is its pool in the last floor, with an unbeatable view of the beach and the unmistakable panorama of the city. It also offers an excellent service in the beach (at the other side of the sidewalk) which includes beach beds, sunshades and bar service. All the rooms offer the last in entertainment technology. Many with a view to the ocean, even from the shower, they add to the guest’s experience bringing them closer to one of the most famous panoramas of the world.

The hotel’s restaurant has become one of the most popular in the city. Under the baton of Rogério Fasano and Salvatore Loi, Al Mare offers Mediterranean cuisine focused around the fruits of the sea. Also its bar, Londra, is very crowded for its sophisticated ambiance, which attracts a clientele older than 25.
