Romantic Mont Tremblant, A Great Place to Ski

In the Laurentides, only an hour away from Montreal and a place where the small mountains invent superb panoramas, we found several places for skiing and enjoying winter sports. Mont Tremblant, one of those mountains, has a beautiful town lying at the foot of the runs and walking there, in the creaky snow, is a pleasure. The lifts take us to the top where, on the north and south sides and spread throughout the marvelous forest, there are a variety of runs for all tastes and levels, even some black ones of three diamonds, Besides the delightful winter sports you can enjoy the scenery and, at night, the town offers excellent restaurants such as the Cheval de Jade in nearby Saint Jovite, as well as bars and discos.

 

To discover this story like region we can enjoy a long ride on a dog sled, an excellent sport which combines the delight of listening to the sled slide on the fresh snow that has fallen in the forest with intense physical exercise. The Scandinave will be the well earned place to enjoy a rest: it is a beautiful Spa with warm outdoor baths in the forest which are followed by immersions in the cold waters of a waterfall or in the Rouge River, where ice flows glide by.

A snowmobile journey to discover the stunning forests will lead us to the frozen lakes, where we can play with the speed of the snow mobiles. The walking tours on snowshoes through the forest took us to hidden nooks and crannies inhabited by deer, squirrels and wood peckers. The cross country ski tours are a pleasant sport. Without rest, they demand a lot of the body but it is a wonderful way to enjoy the silence of nature. The perfect finish to these activities is partaking of the exquisite buffet at the animated Grand Lodge.

 

We can also rest while fishing in the frozen lake, sheltered in a small wood cabin, or skating on lakes where the ice has been prepared. Exploring the charming towns blanketed in snow or taking a ride on a sleigh drawn by horses, we can enjoy the simple, marvelous life in these mountains, a place where the sun is reflected in the snow. Mont Tremblant is a marvelous ski station and a wonderful place to take pleasure during the winter after having been in the snowy streets of Montreal or Quebec, with its Christmas decorations, or the ice hotel, whose walls, beds, bar and tables are made of ice. Winter in Quebec is a joy and a pleasure for the eyes and its carnival envelops everything in color. It is a splendid combination of beauty and sports.
