The Italian seaport of Citavecchia (Old City), a Rome Province, will make a strong “green” investment. The idea is simple. When a ship is docked at a pier, it keeps its engines running to generate power while in port. The change sought, is to give power supply to vessels while in dock. There is no real savings in the amount of electricity used, but there is plenty in the economic and ecological costs involved to produce it.
