To imagine the depth of this marine trench, in the Pacific Ocean, we only have to mention that should it be located on land, it would be higher than Mount Everest, since it is 11km deep with a longitude of 2,550km. The Mariana Trench remains in perpetual darkness with freezing temperatures. Research has proven that even in these inhospitable conditions its waters are full of bacterial life and unusual marine species.
