Important historical city that has been selected as Capital of European Culture 2012, as well as receving the asistanse of UNESCO in order to renovate its historical centre. The city offers a wide variety of music and art thanks to the Vila Flor Cultural Centre, a contemporary cultural centre that opened its doors in 2005. It features amphitheatres, an exposition villa, artists studios and a modern restaurant.
