Efficiency and velocity
Capable of crossing the skies at Mach 0.92, and boasting one the largest cabins in a super-mid size aircraft, the Citation X by Cessna is truly an achievement of modern engineering. The design objectives behind the Citation X included transcontinental USA and trans-Atlantic range in a mid size package that cruises faster than any other business jet available in the market. With a full galley, full lavatory, and luxurious plush cabin with room for flat screens, laptops, and other electronic and personal equipment, the Citation X is able to carry up to 9 passengers in a comfortable setting.
The design features of the Citation X include the fuselage cross section of the Citation III, VI and VII, but with more efficient use of internal space that allows greater head and shoulder room. The interior is unique and individually designed to suit the specific requirements of the owner. The leathers, fabrics and hand-finished hardwoods are all designed with the costumer in mind, who can customize these features, if desired. Other features that can be included in the aircraft: multiple cabin compartments, communication centers, cabin attendant provisions and intercontinental galleys for three-meal service.
Powered by twin Rolls-Royce engines mounted on super-aerodynamic swept wings, the Citation X has a range of 5,362 kilometers. At speeds of up to 1,226 km/h, the Citation X could potentially fly from New York City to London in between six and seven hours, as opposed to the typical ten that other similar super mid-size aircraft would take, not to mention the up to twelve out of a standard airport – without counting delays. The winner of several prestigious awards, the Robert J. Collier Trophy from the National Aeronautic Association, for being the fastest private jet in its class, the Citation X also boasts plush, carpeted interiors, perfect for in-flight parties, meetings, or family vacations, coffee tables and leather chairs, as well as an interior decoration meant to evoke the feeling that one is relaxing in his or her own personal living room.
