An emblem of Chopard, as well as an icon of the most prestigious antique automobile race in the world, the Mille Miglia loyal to the annual event that has made it a classic in the field of luxury watchmaking. Easily recognizable amongst watches of its kind thanks to its distinctive Dunlop Racing rubber strap, the 2010 model features a 44 mm steel case which harbors an automatic chronograph movement, certified by the COSC.
The model distinguishes itself by showcasing its generous case in steel or 18 carat rose gold 44mm case harbors a vintage framing a vintage-style design with elongated numerals that are nonetheless in tune with the spirit of the characteristic Mille Miglia numerals. Water resistant up to 100 meters, the case is fitted with a bezel bearing a tachometric scale, as well as a screw-lock crown adorned with the famous Mille Miglia arrow and broad chronograph pushers that are more readable than ever thanks to the dial design. Inspired by the race numbers of the cars taking part in the rally, the Mille Miglia also features a translucent black PVD limited edition inscription on the sapphire crystal case-back.
From a technical standpoint, the Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono 2010 is impeccable. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour – 4 Hertz – the mechanical self –winding is visible through the transparent case-back. It features 46-hour power reserve which drives the hour, minute, date, small second functions, as well as the chronograph and its central second hand, along with 30-minute and 12-hour counters.
The Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono 2010 is secured firmly to the wrist by a natural rubber Dunlop Racing strap featuring a design echoing that of the 1960s racing tires and fitted with a folding clasp.
The Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono 2010 is available in a limited steel edition of 2010 or in a 250-piece limited edition in 18-carat rose gold.
