The new German concept arrives to Mexico
BMW renews the world leading segment which is more attractive now. No matter if it is the BMW 5 Series Sedan and the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, the new range is sporty, stylish and versatile, not to mention futuristic. The intelligent networking and the latest BMW ConnectedDrive technologies pave the way for freedom and flexibility that was previously unattainable.
Versions BMW 520iA, 528iA BMW, BMW 535iA, 550iA BMW 535iA Sedan and BMW Gran Turismo in Mexico are available starting the first week of September.
Fastest-leading technology breakthrough
BMW TwinPower Turbo technology combines the most recent injection and fully variable power control technology with turbo charging. The new generation engines that offer maximum pleasure during driving thanks to a power supply which is much more energetic, as well as economical and environmentally friendlier than its predecessors.
The new-generation V8 engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology of 330 kW/450 HP, is the star among the thrusters for the new range of 5 Series models of the brand for its ten percent larger power and significantly lower consumption.
In this eight-cylinder engine, available in the 550iA Sedan, the regulatory system VALVETRONIC which counts with a variable valve system to boost two twin-scroll turbochargers and direct injection system for a High Precision Injection petrol. The engine of 4,395 cc is an output of 330 kW/450 hp and a maximum torque of 650 Nm. The BMW 550iA Sedan stops the clock in to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 4.6 seconds.
The award-winning six-cylinder in-line BMW with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology worldwide is considered as the reference in dynamic power delivery and outstanding efficiency. The BMW 535iA Sedan and the BMW 535iA Gran Turismo equipped with this engine of 225 kW/306 HP, won numerous awards.
They also offer two gasoline four-cylinder for the BMW 5 Series Sedan, the BMW 520iA engine with an output of 135 kW/184 HP. On the other hand, the engine of the BMW 528iA has an output of 180 kW/245 HP.
The new range of BMW 5 Series available in Mexico, has a gearbox 8-speed automatic, which offers an especially quick, accurate and efficient present in the BMW 520iA and 528iA BMW Luxury, as well as the option of having shift paddles on the steering wheel BMW 528iA M Sport version, in all models of BMW 535iA, 550iA BMW and BMW 535iA in Gran Turismo.

The advanced technology optimized chassis, with double wishbone front axle cross with an Integral rear axle and electromechanical power steering with Servotronic as standard, gets a whole exemplary balance between sportiness and comfort. The design: specific modifications accentuate the sportive
In terms of design, the BMW 5 Series Sedan accentuates her play by profiling its framework grille and new lower air entries. The rear is enhanced by a fold in the facia and its narrower bright moldings are profiled, frame rear lights and alloy 18 inch wheels.
For the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, the front facia was modified to emphasize poise and strength of self. With the new design a more long and low rear has been granted, which combined with its three-dimensional surfaces of support, along with the chrome strip that is now in the front, and light alloy wheels of 19 inches, confirm the dynamic look of the vehicle. It is noteworthy that the reconfiguration of the rear of the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo allowed increasing the trunk capacity which is now of 440-500 liters.
In all models, the side indicator lights are integrated into the rear view mirrors and include serial, xenon headlights or you can opt for automatic orientation LED headlights, lamps or LEDs.
As for the finishes, the range offers a BMW Luxury Line version which includes the B-pillar coatings and given the exterior mirrors a glossy black finish. The handles and entry doors are illuminated with chrome, taking the latter, aluminum segments in which you can see the distinctive BMW emblem.
The rods are at the end of the lower air inlet; the front portions of the black grille, the bases of the windows of the facia and rear end tubes with chrome materials enhance its distinctiveness. Inside, leather finishes grant a unique design, the leather sport steering wheel in black and fine wood gives it a special atmosphere to the interior distinction, a place where you can see the new chromed frame Control Display of the iDrive operating system. Further, the two storage compartments in the doors and the holder which are in the central console have a larger capacity. Additionally it also offers a M Sport package that accentuates the sportive vehicle.
All models of the BMW 5 Series are now more attractive and allow a greater degree of customization, with new exterior colors and new alloy wheels that offer lightweight garments and finishes for the interior.

More innovative than ever: BMW ConnectedDrive optional equipment
Thanks to the combination of driver assistance systems and mobility services with BMW ConnectedDrive, the new range of BMW 5 Series offers innovative solutions to enhance driving pleasure.
Among these features are: the screen to highlight BMW, Display full color, which can now be projected on the windshield, the telephone, contact lists and various entertainment programs, as well as a departure warning function.
This new system activates high beams from the lights without blinding the driver, as well as BMW Night Vision system with Dynamic Light Spot and detection of people and animals increase safety when driving at night. A front camera built in the interior mirror is used to detect cars that drive ahead in the same direction, for a distance of 400 meters; if moving in the opposite direction cars can be detected within1000 meters.
Also, when regarding the vision system BMW Night Vision adds new features; the driver receives a warning on the board, if the camera detects subjects who are in the path. In turn, the Dynamic Light Spot light beam directed toward people or animals will identify it for complete the notice.
Driving Assistant: The new option combines the function of a lane departure warning with dangerous approach notice of the vehicle ahead, which in turn includes the function start braking operation. The driving function with Assistant Plus, allows the driver to leave it up o the system to regulate the distance of the vehicle in front. The front camera and radar sensors detect cars that are in front, no matter if they are parked or moving. If the driver does not react to the warnings that indicate a possible collision, Driving Assistant Plus function applies the brakes automatically.
