With this high end timepiece: Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar-Ultra-Thin; Swiss watch company Audemars Piguet has gained notability as the thinnest perpetual calendar watch in history: a mere 6.3 mm for the case and 2.9 mm for movement. This contraption holds all pieces of the perpetual calendar within a single layer, in contrast to a prior 3 levels.

This timepiece, which will be manufactured as a limited series, two patented innovations are implemented: the end of month cam is integrated into the date wheel and the month cam is combines with the month wheel; The mechanism in matter is the caliber 5133 of automatic rope and with frequency of 2.75 Hz. It’s autonomy corresponds to 40 hours. The case is crafted out of satin titanium and polished 950 platinum for the bezel. The watch is not apt for underwater activities, as its water resistance is set at only 20 m - 2 atmospheres deep.
