FENDI has reopened its flagship store in New York City, now located on the corner of 57th Street in Manhattan's Fuller Building.
Spread over 6,900 square feet, two floors house ready-to-wear collections for men and women, as well as accessories and other leather goods from the Kim Jones FW 21-22 collection.
The building, originally designed to house art galleries, was given a twist thanks to the creative collaboration with artistic designers Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi, achieving a contemporary version, even without remodeling the original facade, to preserve the historical aspect of the place.
Six transparent LED curtains extend vertically on three levels showing images of the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, FENDI's headquarters in Rome.
The interiors are a play on the Maison's codes and tradition, combining industrial concrete columns and beams with luxurious touches of marble, brass and steel, accented with exceptional carpets. The Arabescato Vagli marble recalls the architecture of Roman churches.
