Oriental Haute Cuisine

The sky is clear and the stars are shining, just like the towers of Kuala Lampur, and the elegant table, beautifully set on the terrace, is aglow with the light from silver candlesticks. A romantic scene in a colonial setting: the gardens of what at one time was the guesthouse of English governor Frank Swettenham. It is like a dream that transports us back to that era, when Malaysia belonged to England and the art of living was part of everyday life.

We are served an exquisite Thai soup, just spicy enough to awaken our appetite, coconut shrimp and the famous Malaysian-style skewered beef. The finest wines in the world accompany the refined dishes, but we suggest having tea (an enormous variety is available), since this infusion allows diners to better appreciate the flavors. The desserts are the consequence of a fusion of exotic fruits with the refinement of European flavors, a combination of two very different worlds but one that will satisfy the tastes of the most exigent diners.

The style of service retains the English elegance of the colonial era and invites us to experience the glamour of those years, when the European lifestyle touched down in Asia. Mahsuri is the most famous restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, where the people of the world of entertainment meet those of the world of business, and where eating is a delight. Haute cuisine has taken over the best place in town.
