Gourmet Gastronomy

The Grill Room

When you step into The Grill Room Champagne and Cocktail Lounge, you are dazzled by its infinite array of mirrors, chandeliers, lamps and golden columns. It has a newly restored Louis XVI style that emulates the 1865 original. This is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of champagne, some mixed drinks and a light menu.

Its charm is not limited to the Champagnes  and Wine menu, but a surround décor that emphasizes class. The roof molding is embellished with gold leaf, as well as the columns, shining in its entire splendor, adding a heightened sense of space and drama.

The great minds of Britain came together in this same room to discuss how to change the world. Oscar Wilde, George Bernard Shaw Aubery Beardsley and Virginia Woolf and more recently David Bowie, Mick Jagger, the four Beatles and Elizabeth Taylor danced here until dawn.

The Ten Room

The Ten Room is a formal restaurant “brasserie” style with a menu full of innovative flavors that create, along with the décor, an unparalleled epicurean atmosphere.

A typical English breakfast starts with poached eggs, fried or scrambled to your choice, Scottish bacon slices of tenderloin, sausage, pudding, country mushrooms and cherry tomatoes. If you prefer to order a la carte, there are two suggestions, the London Cure smoked salmon with cream cheese and fennel pollen, or scrambled eggs with salmon, lemon and melba toast. Of course, these should be accompanied by your favorite tea from a large variety of teas. It is served from 7:00 to 10:30 am, sharp in accordance with British punctuality.

The menu for lunch and dinner is served from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and from 5:30 to 10:30 pm (other menus are available for intermediate schedules). Start with a tuna tartar accompanied by pickled radish and roasted garlic. If you prefer fish, let it be the Sea Snook, served with braised fennel, smoked red pepper and black olives. A delicious entry would be the Holstein veal chop, an excellent choice presented with capers, anchovies and hazelnuts in soy butter. If your palate likes grilled meat, it would be delighted with an Entrecôte, medium rare, served with watercress, plum tomatoes, and onions and grilled stuffed mushrooms. Finish the feast with a selection of French and English cheeses, with fruit bread.
