Cellar and haute cuisine in London

The Launceston Place restaurant is saturated with the spirit and history of London. Its elegant building, circa 1839, enjoys the closeness to landmarks like Kensington Park, Hyde Park, and Royal Albert Hall.

Launceston Place prides itself for its excellent wine list, winner of the Best Wine List prize at the Tatler Restaurant Awards. The selection ranges from classics from the old world to new world favorites. It goes from wines available by the glass to winner vintages from the world’s best cellars. Augustine, Sommelier from Spain, was at the world famous Catalonia’s  restaurant El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, before coming to Launceston Place in 2011.

Tim Allen, the head chef, join the team in February last year. His experience includes Whatley Manor in the Cotswolds, The Landmar and L’Ortolan. The knowledge he inherited about family farming, and the inspiration from Chefs like Martin Burge and John Burton Race, have allowed Tim to create truly exceptional dishes, as his acclaimed Early English Raspberry Soufflé or his New Season English Lamb with fresh peas and green beans..

The Launceston Place has seven menus. The regular dinner, for example, is led by the Roasted Landes Quail, accompanied with Jerusalem artichoke, Pata Negra Lardo and caramelized endive. The other six are, the Lunch Menu; the Tasting; The Vegetarian Tasting, Market, Early Evening and Sunday Lunch Menu.
