Croatian cuisine by the Adriatic Sea

We arrived at Hvar, one of the most beautiful islands of the Adriatic Sea and checked into the Adriana Hotel. The Adriana has a minimalist modern design, surrounded with its vibrating neon blues in deep contrast with the peaceful port. The building, all white, is reflected in the crystal clear waters. It offers a wonderful view of the town, the port, the hill with its fortress, and the numerous boats floating as if arising from another time, in disparity to the modernity of superb yachts.

The hotel offers a luxurious spa and a rooftop pool. We allow ourselves to be amazed by this place that carries us to the future, overlooking the charming past. We discovered the bar which is located on the top floor. It has a panoramic view of the old town, the yachts adorning the harbor and the Paklinski islands. It is a sophisticated setting with terraced gardens in a stunning design; a great place for a drink before dinner.  It is here, where you can meet all the Jet Setters visiting Hvar.

After a few drinks, we headed to the best restaurant in Hvar, the Val Adriana. It is located at the terrace by the foot of the hotel. You can appreciate a great view and breathe an atmosphere of sophistication. We enjoyed the outdoor dining while tasting the best of the Croatian modern cuisine, served in beautifully decorated dishes.

The Adriatic fish take some exceptional flavors with herbs that grow wild on the island. We tasted the “foie gras” produced in the country and excellent wines. The roasted lamb is a real delicacy; and the desserts topped with excellence this delicate dinner.

Dining in Val Adriana is the grand prize of a trip to Croatia. You will enjoy the nautical atmosphere in an elegant place. No wonder it is a favorite  for the European Jet Set. It is definitely the best place to meet the rich and famous and be part of the celebrity crowd who hangs around the Adriatic Sea.O
