Close to the convent and church of Santo Domingo, Casa Oaxaca invites to enjoy the colonial city downtown full of decorated streets, colorful houses and windows of long bars. In the Calle Garcia Vigil down to the cathedral, there is this long blue house with its high lights and through the open wooden door, we get to a white space decorated with wood, minimalist style, and the wonderful people that opens the senses that vibrate between these walls welcome us.

At Casa Oaxaca, one of its luxuries is the kitchen designed by fabulous chef Alejandro Ruiz, whose dishes combine traditional with modern cuisine, where the black mole dresses, the /Jamaica/ (hibiscus) accompanies guajillo chilli sauces, mango and /the/ holy herb mix to accompany fine fish. It’s a real feast for the palate surrounded by a superb environment.

Breakfast on the patio is the first pleasure of the day, the huevos rancheros take another flavor and ornament, the chilaquiles have a blissful taste, the church bells echo in the air that descends on the cool shaded patio. In winter the fireplace welcomes us to create pleasant evenings. The enjoyment is different through the day while rest in enjoyed, either returning from the market or museum. And the ultimate delight is when the candles light up the yard after an exquisite dinner.

Casa Oaxaca is a paradise in the tumult of the city, an historic jewel among the beautiful historic downtown, a loving home full of good taste, a refreshing oasis next to the very interesting churches and houses. It is a real must-visit while you are at Oaxaca, and the restaurant Casa Oaxaca is your companion.
