n September 30 and Oc-
tober 1st 2017, the first
edition of the San Gaspar
Porsche Cup was held at the
San Gaspar del Lago Nauti-
cal Club, in Valle de Bravo,
State of Mexico. More than
90 boats participated in
both action-filled dates of this new regatta of
the increasingly significant sport of sailing
in Mexico.
The event was sponsored by Porsche—a
brand linked to world-class excellence sporting
events. They offered participants the opportuni-
ty to drive their exclusive models accompanied
by one of their experienced racetrack drivers.
The Porsche San Gaspar regatta was open for
sailing boats of Laser, Laser Radial, Windsurf,
Optimist, 420, Hobie Cat 16, Santana 20, J - 24
and J - 70 classes. The program consisted of a
total of five regattas, divided in three races dur-
ing the first day and two on the last day, which
took place successfully, with an advantageous
weather that brought with it sailing’s best ally:
the wind.

Octubre de 2017, se celebró en
el Club Náutico San Gaspar del
Lago, en Valle de Bravo, Estado de
México, la primera cita de la Copa
Porsche San Gaspar. Más de 90
embarcaciones participaron en
las dos emocionantes jornadas
de esta nueva regata del circuito cada vez más re-
levante del deporte de la Vela en México.
Convocada bajo el auspicio de Porsche –cuya
marca está unida a eventos deportivos de exce-
lencia mundial– ofreció a los participantes la opor-
tunidad de conducir sus modelos exclusivos, en
compañía de uno de sus experimentados pilotos
del circuito de carreras.
La regata Porsche San Gaspar estuvo abierta
para los barcos de las clases Laser, Laser Radial, Ta-
bla Vela, Optimist, 420, Hobie Cat 16, Santana 20,
J - 24 y J - 70. El programa fue conformado por un
total de cinco regatas, divididas en tres pruebas
durante la primera jornada y dos el último día, que
se pudieron realizar exitosamente, con la ventaja
de un clima que permitió que corriera el mejor ami-
go de la vela: el viento.
