Af- terwards, themammals calmlymoved away fromthe place before the astonished gaze of the people from the dock, as well as the local fauna protection group, who jealously watched themduring their journey. The event organizers, together with Frost Sci- ence, were responsible for protecting and securing the important marine ecosystems by not docking ships on the seagrass beds, allowing the underwa- ter plants to continue to receive sunlight and avoid damage. Protección a la flora y fauna En uno de los días del evento, la presencia de manatíes en el área de exhibición de los yates, provocó la suspen- sión momentánea de las demostraciones, para evitar su colisión con los “visitantes” marinos. Posteriormen- te, los mamíferos se alejaron tranquilamente del lugar ante la mirada azorada de las personas desde el muelle, así como del grupo de protección de la fauna local, quie- nes celosamente los vigilaron en su travesía. Los organizadores del evento, junto con Frost Science, fueron los encargados de proteger y asegurar los importantes ecosistemas marítimos al no atracar barcos sobre los lechos de pastos marinos, permitien- do que las plantas submarinas continuarán recibiendo la luz del sol y evitar daño alguno.
