Santacruz, quien haciendo honor a su talento logró
repetir, junto a su tripulación, como el mejor logrando
así el ansiado Bi-campeonato.
Otras embarcaciones destacadas fueron los bar-
cos norteamericanos liderados por Mike Igham y
Mark Hilmman, segundo y tercero general respecti-
vamente, así como las sorprendentes actuaciones de
los veleros japoneses Cerezo y Siesta, quienes ade-
más dieron un toque de simpatía y folclore poco
común entre los asistentes, pues a donde fuera que
iban, sobre todo los niños, no dejaban de gritarles
una y otra vez ‘hola’ en japonés:

cabe destacar el excelente desempeño de las embar-
caciones mexicanas,
quienes con Yon
Belauteguigoitia y Kenneth Porter de líderes logra-
ron quedar en los lugares 13° y 14° de la general,
compitiendo de tú a tú con los mejores del orbe.
