o es novedad que Wally es una de las marcas más
prestigiosas en la construcción de yates, además
de tener como premisa la adaptación y el diseño
de embarcaciones al gusto de cada cliente.
Ello da como resultado que los sueños se hagan reali-
dad, brindando el apoyo técnico y el soporte de ingeniería
para lograr un perfecto equilibrio en todo el proyecto. El
Y3K no es la excepción.
De la filosofía Wally, diseñado para un exigente clien-
te alemán, este velero resulta de la suma del desempeño
de un bote de regata maxi más las características de un
crucero. Es una embarcación destinada para vivir el placer
y la velocidad, manteniendo un perfecto equilibrio entre
estos dos mundos, que a menudo son antagónicos. Esto
nos lleva a apreciar aún más este yate.
El desplazamiento de esta embarcación se ve directa-
mente afectado (para aligerarlo) por un sinfín de detalles
estructurales, como las uniones y, sobre todo, la extensa
utilización de fibra de carbón y materiales ligeros (aleacio-
nes, polímeros y plásticos) incluido el titanio.
En la cubierta exterior localizamos dos áreas sociales: la
central, que cuenta con una mesa para 10 personas, y la de
popa, conocida como “terraza en el mar”, bajo la que se lo-
caliza el garaje para la lancha auxiliar (tender). El salón prin-

and engineering support and achieve a perfect bal-
ance in every aspect of the project. The Y3K is no
exception.
Designed for a demanding German client, this
sailboat is the sum of the Wally philosophy. It com-
bines the performance of a Maxi regatta boat with the
traits of a cruise ship. It is a fanciful boat, designed for
both pleasure and speed, that manages to maintain a
perfect balance between these two worlds that are
often on opposite ends. And, of course, this leads to
an even greater appreciation of this yacht.
The displacement of this boat is made lighter by
an endless number of structural details and, most of
all, by the use of carbon fiber and other lightweight
materials such as polymers, plastics and titanium.
There are two social areas on the exterior deck: the
main one, with a table for 10 people, and the sea ter-
race on the stern. There is a garage for a tender under
the latter.
