The Honours

MYS 2024 was preceded by the second annual The Honours, which honored three individuals who have made a difference within and beyond the superyacht community. This year's prestigious Bowsprit Award went to Frederic Jousset, art philanthropist and creator of the first boat museum; Nick Entwisle, founder of Yachting Gives Back; and explorer Mike Horn, leader of the Pangaea X project.

Frédéric Jousset. Founder of the ArtExplorer Foundation, dedicated to democratizing access to culture and bringing art to the people. In 2023, he combined his passions for art and sailing to launch ArtExplorer, the world's largest catamaran, a floating museum that began a two-year voyage around the Mediterranean, visiting more than 15 destinations to offer free access to "art and art experiences".

Nick Entwisle. After decades in the superyacht industry, he launched Yachting Gives Back in 2019 to fight hunger and poverty in Mallorca. The charity attracted support from the yachting community and has grown into a well-organized initiative that donates food, clothing and financial aid to organizations such as Mallorca Sense Fam and Associació Tardor.

Mike Horn. In 2008, he launched Pangaea, a 114 ft sailboat, on a 52,000 nautical miles expedition involving young people in environmental and social projects in destinations such as Antarctica, India and Africa. His Pangaea X initiative continues this mission by educating the next generation about environmental challenges through the Young Explorers Program, a six-month incubation that empowers young innovators to tackle global issues.
