Since its debut, Azimut’s Grande Series has been a benchmark in the superyacht segment, thanks to its technological and stylistic innovation. Today, the range reaches a new level of maturity through a winning design synergy between Alberto Mancini (exteriors) and m2atelier (interiors), combined with the latest advances in electrification and naval architecture.
The new flagship—the Grande 44M, representing the culmination of this journey—is being presented at the Monaco Yacht Show alongside the Grande Trideck and the Grande 30M. With seven units sold even before its official debut, the Grande 44M arrives in Monaco as a true manifesto of the contemporary superyacht.
The upper deck is thus transformed into an exclusive deck, reserving the most privileged view on board for the owner—a space traditionally allocated to the helm station. Here, a magnificent forward lounge opens up to the sea through massive windows (which can also slide open sideways), offering an unprecedented view.
Aft, the Grande 44M echoes the "Mezzanine Deck" concept featuring a sea-view terrace—a key element of the Grande Trideck’s success—made even more spectacular by a transparent pool. When desired, the pool can be covered to transform it into a walkable deck or a dance floor under the moonlight.
The Grande 44M represents the pinnacle of Azimut’s technological research and establishes itself as the flagship of the low-emission yacht fleet, guaranteeing a reduction in CO2 emissions of up to 30% compared to traditional naval architecture of the same size. The yacht's extraordinary efficiency is the result of the synergy between several advanced solutions:
- Hull Vane foil technology: This consists of a carbon-fiber foil installed at the stern to suppress the stern wave and generate additional thrust. It represents a breakthrough in lightweight engineering: if made of steel, the foil would weigh 1,500 kg, whereas Azimut’s technical expertise in carbon-fiber application has reduced its weight to just 400 kg.
- Dual-mode hull: Designed by the Azimut|Benetti Group R&D department in collaboration with PL Ausonio Naval Architecture, this hull combines the advantages of a fast-displacement bow with those of a semi-planing stern, optimizing fuel efficiency across the entire speed range.
- Structural weight reduction: 50% of the yacht's surface area is constructed from carbon fiber—covering over 1,000 m²—which reduces the weight of the upper sections by 8 tons. This weight reduction allows for increased interior volume without compromising stability, performance, or overall hull efficiency.
- Mild Hybrid system: Developed by the Azimut|Benetti Group in partnership with Asea Nautica, this system utilizes two 50 kW electric motors configured as shaft generators and a 188 kWh battery pack (expandable to 230 kWh). This technology enables the yacht to remain at anchor with the generators turned off—in absolute silence—for 3 to 4 hours during the day and 8 to 10 hours at night.
- Solar panels: 30 m² of photovoltaic surface area integrated into the fourth deck to power the yacht's hotel systems.
