JFA Yachts' new 26.25-meter sailing catamaran combines exceptional performance, range, and living space, with a spacious flybridge that redefines the offshore sailing experience.
The French shipyard has expanded its Long Island range with the launch of the Long Island 87, a sailing catamaran designed for ocean voyages without compromising on comfort. With naval architecture by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group and interiors by Darnet Design, this 26.25-meter vessel strikes a balance between efficiency, reliability, and sophisticated onboard living.
The new model inherits the expertise of its predecessors, the Long Island 85, which have proven their capabilities in demanding destinations such as Antarctica, Greenland, the Pacific, and the Baltic Sea. The most striking evolution is its extraordinary flybridge, conceived as a separate space for sailing, relaxing, and socializing.
Equipped with two helm stations, a sheltered bar, and a spacious lounge, the upper deck offers panoramic views and a variety of areas to enjoy the maritime surroundings. Its roof incorporates solar panels that contribute to generating electricity while at anchor, reducing reliance on generators.
With a beam of 11.93 meters, the Long Island 87' takes advantage of its dimensions to create a seamless connection between the interior and exterior. The cockpit, lounge, and dining area receive abundant natural light, while the sunbathing areas and aft platform expand the possibilities for relaxation and entertainment. The latter can accommodate a five-meter tender and become a prime space for watersports.
The interior offers 124 square meters of space and capacity for ten guests and four crew members. The owner's cabin, located on the main deck and equipped with 180° panoramic views, is a highlight. The layout of the accommodations on both hulls promotes privacy, with additional guest cabins and separate crew quarters. The construction reflects JFA Yachts' DNA: aluminum hulls and a composite deck and superstructure, a combination designed to optimize weight, sailing performance, and comfort on long voyages. Its sail area reaches 360 m², while two 400 hp engines complement its cruising capabilities.
For its future owner, the purpose goes beyond simply acquiring a yacht: it's about circumnavigating the globe with their family of four, safely, independently, and in luxury. This aspiration encapsulates the philosophy of the Long Island 87': transforming ocean sailing into a life experience.
