An Oasis four your Senses
El Santuario Resort Spa (The Sanctuary) is a luxurious haven set on 494 acres, on the shore of lake Valle de Bravo. The mountains, pine forests, starry nights, sunny days and the song of birds, make it an unforgettable experience for visitors. Across the lake, opposite El Santuario, is the picturesque sixteenth century town with its cobblestone streets and welcoming atmosphere.
Located on an energy-filled quarts mountain, El Santuario Resort Spa is a spectacular paradise created for your complete relaxation.
Spa, an experience that will change your outlook
El Santuario’s spa is a paradise for body and mind. It covers an area of half an acre and redefines the spa experience. It offers over 60 therapies, 15 therapy cabins, a couple’s suite with private fireplace, floatarium and gym. It also has a “Body and Soul” studio with activities like yoga, meditation, tai-chi and aerobics, in addition to an oxygen bar, boutique and beauty parlor, all with views of the lake or mountains.
El Sanatuario’s signature therapy is “Yenecamu” which means, “place between two waters”. The three hour treatment takes place in the center of the lake, on the “Spa Poontoon” boat and includes services such as cactus body exfoliation, hydrating mescal-tequila body wrap and a relaxing Swedish massage, among others.
The spa has all the necessary facilities and accessories: dressing rooms with a fireplace, jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath, rain water showers, robes, slippers and complementary lotions, hydrotherapy tubs and talasotherapy treatments, Juice and Snack bar and a circular space for meditation with individual queen-size loungers, surrounded by water and cascades, plus a 180° view of the lake and an impressive hanging copper chimney.
Hotel
With a privileged micro-climate, no humidity, 90% less rainfall and more than 8°C than the rest of Valle de Bravo, El Santuario is the only place where you can watch the rain fall on the other side of lake while you sunbathe.
Architecture of the elements: water, air, earth, balance and tranquility make this magnificent construction a jewel for the recreation of the spirit.
Marina, restaurant-bar, wading pool, separate “Infinity Edge” swimming pools for kids, young people and adults, multipurpose halls and, soon, the Narcissus Quagliata cupola, one of the most important works of its kind in the world.
All of El Santuario’s 64 luxury rooms have a private “Infinity Edge” swimming pool, which means that, when the view of the pool coincides with the lake, it creates an optical illusion of infinity. The rooms have down quilts, Egyptian lines in the décor and amenities like aromatherapy, a panoramic view of the lake and mountains, areas for relaxing, convertible futon, queen-size lounger, mini bar, TV, safe, direct-dial phones, handmade, fine wood furniture and onyx lamps. The marble bathrooms also have a view of the lake and feature Murano style glass sinks and double showerheads with a waterfall and river stone floors for reflexology, as well as unique Victor Klassen sculptures.
Real estate development
The El Santuario real estate development covers ecological reserves and natural areas. It has tiled streets, electricity and subterranean services. There are lots for sale starting at 1,196 square yards (1,000 square meters) as well as club shares.
Restaurant
The restaurant at El Santuario, which also features a view of the lake, offers Spa and international cuisine with a Mexican touch. The food is prepared with the finest locally grown ingredients, organic fruits and vegetables. El Santuario has two lounges in addition to the poolside “Palapa Bar”. For special events, this exclusive spot has banquet halls with a capacity for up to 1,000 people.
Golfer’s Club, Nautical Club and sport activities
El Santuario is heaven for sports enthusiasts; a 9-hole, par 3 Executive Golf Course, mountain bike ecological paths and tracks, marina and water sports like sailing and water skiing, tennis court, paddle tennis court, eco-adventure tours, parapenting and canopy cable tours, all surrounded by exuberant nature.
Equestrian Club
Made from adobe brick, earth from El Santuario and fine woods, the Equestrian Club features a certified jumping track, grass grandstands to enjoy the competitions while you contemplate the lake, a large paddock with grazing grounds where the horses can roam free and even a jockey bar with great ambiance.
