A new palace in Delhi; modernism built upon the luxuries of the past

In Gurgaon, Delhi’s new financial district bordering the ultra-modern international airport, the Oberoi has created an innovating hotel inspired by the palaces of the Maharajas. Immense water mirrors give the area an intense blue hue.

The reception area is of a minimalist design that can be expanded by opening and closing the windows overlooking the aforementioned pools. Outdoor columns give the structure and air of magnificence. They are, by design, futuristic, despite alluding the columns of the ancient palaces.

In the midst of the world of light, water, and mirror, one finds an enormous flower stand that evokes the romances of days long gone. A long hallway leads guests to their rooms, a gym, a luxurious spa, and other leisure areas where they can rest mind and body.

Each room has features a modern and Indian design and are soberly decorated. Guests are attended 24 hours a day by a personal butler. From their rooms, they can enjoy the views of the great pool, the gardens, and the city.

The Amaranta hotel serves exquisite Indian cuisine, while the Threesixtyone restaurant offers some of the finest breakfasts in the city, as well as modern dishes during dinner hours. Marbles compete in beauty to design elegant floor reflected in mirrors that make up the walls, re-creating that light who lived in the ancient palaces.

Oberoi has also built the Trident Hotel nearby, yet of a more traditional design. In spite of this, the Oberoi Gurgaon is the new palace in the city, and its looking a bright future. An exceptional hotel, it is sure to mesmerize and astound guests.
