Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, conducted the ceremony of laying the first stone of what will be Solaz, a Luxury Collection Resort. The hotel, owned by Fifth Gulf of Cortez, covering 33 hectares that include a large spa, homes, vacation properties and a private beach club. Solace, which will open its doors in June 2017 as the first Starwood Luxury Collection hotel in Los Cabos and seventh hotel brand in Mexico, followed by the recent conversion of The St. Regis in Mexico City.
Located on the southern tip of Baja California Sur, will Solaz 131 luxuriously designed rooms and suites in five different buildings of six floors. A team of renowned firms such as Sordo Madaleno Architects, a firm that collaborates with the team of landscape architects Gabayet 101Paisaje and artist Cesar Lopez Negrete, whose original works will be on display throughout the property.
Also house three restaurants, a food open all day, a specialty restaurant and grill in the pool area. Besides offering pool and beach area covering more than 3,300 m2; The resort will also feature a spa and fitness center of approximately 1,160 square meters, three tennis courts and large spaces to walk and admire the scenery. For meetings and special events, Solaz offer more than 920 square meters of space with the latest technology to accommodate social or business groups.
